Q is for Quiet

Zachariah has been sleeping later this week. He does that, he'll go in spurts when he'll sleep later for weeks, then have a week or so when he gets up earlier. The few weeks before this he's been getting up fairly early for us. Now this week he's sleeping in. So my body is getting up without him. This is pretty nice most mornings. I'm enjoying being able to have breakfast on my own and just relish the peace and quiet for a while. I like my quiet time. This means I get it in the morning, and again when he naps in the afternoon.

How about you? Do you get up before your kids? Why do you? Can't sleep anymore? Gotta get ready for work? You get the family going? Or are you like I normally am and wait to get up until the kid/kids wake up? Does what you're doing work for you? Have you tried different things?

Parker slept until 8 three days this week and it was such a treat! Like you, I wake up anyway and have brief moment of panic thinking I didn't hear her wake before I realize she's just still sleeping.

my kids go through phases of getting up Early or Super Early, but really, I notice a cycle MYSELF ... some weeks I am up early and downstairs before my husband leaves for the day, and some days he has to gate them upstairs because I can hardly get up before 9:30.

Generally I'm AWAKE at the same time as them but I stay in bed. Only sometimes I get up with them. Or obviously, if T's not here then I get up without any problems. I just like my life of luxury here :)

Even when I do wake up before Samantha I stay in bed. It's just too nice being able to wake up and relax in bed. this past week she has been getting up between 8 and 8:30, it's been so nice. I try to get up, but I just can't seem to get out of bed. Usually she gets up between 7 and 7:30.

Lucky you! Because of Syd's school schedule, we get up at 7 everyday. I honestly tried getting up a bit earlier than them for a while (to wash my hair and get dressed), but it only lasted about two weeks. I enjoy my sleep way too much to get up earlier than 7.

I try to get up before my son on most mornings so that I can shower in peace without having to sing songs to a 1 year old in an exersaucer while I'm trying to wash my hair. But some mornings he beats me to the punch, and I don't get my shower till he wakes up. I love when he sleeps late because that means I can get my shower, get dressed, dry my hair, and I can actually throw a load of clothes in the washing machine or do the dishes before he is under my feet :)

My 3-year-old usually wakes up at 7:30 but I tell her wake up time isn't until 8, so she gets in bed with me and reads books, waking me up every 5 minutes to ask me if it's 8-oh-clock yet.

She does sleep in sometimes, but only on the days I was counting on her to be my 7:30 alarm clock!
