Not ready yet, so help cheer me up!

I need to compose a blog about something that has come up today. Matt and I have been hurt by some friends. I do want to talk about it here, because I think it will help me sort through my feelings. But, I'm not quite ready to do that yet. I'll probably start composing the blog and changing it along the way.

So, I hope that you all are having a better day than me. And in the meantime, let's do something fun.

Tell me about whether or not you're watching television this summer. (Or perhaps movies you've seen lately.) What are you watching? What is your favorite? Is it one I'm watching? If so, let's talk about it.

Here's what we've been watching lately (mostly reality): Big Brother 10, The Mole, The Next Food Network Star, The Bachelorette (now over), So You Think You Can Dance, Last Comic Standing. Can you tell I'm a reality whore during the summer? It's just light and easy going enough that it keeps me interested.

We have seen a few movies in the past few months too: Chronicles of Narnia- Prince Caspian (before summer, but still), Hancock, Don't Mess with the Zohan (don't waste your money on this one). And I had sitting on my shelf to watch yet: The Bucket List, Fool's Gold, and The Illusionist.

Your turn now.

wow, I'm so sorry your friends acted un-friendly!

I've been watching 6 feet under. I've never seen it so I've been netflixing the dvds. We watched the sopranos last summer so I thought I'd go here. I love it! T doesn't like it though, he's been watching Heroes, which I can't stand for some reason.

I'm a reality TV whore, too. I have been watching BB10, but it's not gripping me this season. The Mole, however, I love. I have been waiting for years for it to come back. Even without Anderson Cooper, it's awesome. We like Last Comic and Japanese Gameshow, too.

Jen-
First, thanks, we're working through our pain. I think we'll have to make some changes, but I'm hoping we can still be friendly towards these people.

Second, I love catching up on TV shows like that. I don't have Netflix, but if I did I would totally catch up on tons of TV shows. Someday. I watch some things online to catch up. Most of the major networks show some of their shows in full episodes online. Love that. And hulu.com is a neat place for some older and newer shows too. Also, Heros...I saw some of it when it started, but it drove me nuts after a few shows. Too strange for me.

Gina-
Yes, glad I'm not the only one who craves reality TV in the summer. My husband has said the same thing about BB10.
And I'm with you on The Mole. The first season was best. And I loved Anderson Cooper, but this season is still pretty good.
Do you have a favorite on Last Comic Standing yet? I think I like Iliza.
And oh, Japanese Gameshow is pretty funny too. I watch that online. I'll turn it on while I'm doing dishes or something. All the Japanese antics are hilarious.

I love all of the Bravo reality shows: Top Chef, Project Runway, etc. Scott hates them, of course. He will watch The Next Food Network Star with me, though.

My BIL and SIL just recommended Dexter to us. We're going to try it out.

We've been working through something with friends that I can't blog about. I hope yours resolves soon.

Yup, I love reality TV too. The Mole is good, and BB10 is kind of a train wreck but I can't stop watching. I'm not crazy about any of the contestants actually being on the Food Network, but the show is fun to watch too.

I'm also netflix-ing Veronica Mars and Firefly since I missed them when they were on. I'm told I should either do Dexter, Grey's Anatomy, or Dawson's Creek next depending on my mood. :)

First of all, I think it hurts worse when you are an adult because you don't expect it. In high school etc., most everyone is two-faced and you get used to watching your back. In adult life, you kind of let your guard down, right? You don't expect to be hurt by those you call friends.

We are thrilled that Monk has started back up, and we also like Psych. I really like Deliver Me on Discovery Health too.

As for movies, we have been out to see Indiana Jones and Mamma Mia and the last one we rented was "Be Kind, Rewind" which was nothing like we thought it would be, not a comedy like they made it out to be, but was actually killer good.

So sorry to hear about your friends. It's strange how friendships that go sour can hurt so much; I always thought that kind of stuff wouldn't happen after high school, but I guess not.

We've been enjoying Dexter, Last Comic Standing, Hopkins, Army Wives and of course, Le Tour de France (gag). No movies, unfortunately. I have a feeling we won't be going to the movies for a loooong time.

Sorry to hear you're going through some problems with your "friends."

I've been working my way through several seasons of Grey's Anatomy. I had never actually watched the show since my MOMs club meets the same night. Well, I've watched five episodes straight last night (season 2, disc 2) and I am HOOKED.

No Whey Mama- I never really got into Top Chef. I watched one or two seasons of Project Runway. I think I watched when they were doing a marathon of reruns, then caught up on all of a season.
Hmm, Dexter. Haven't seen that.
And thanks for thinking of me.

K in the Mirror- The Mole = awesome! That's a goodd description of BB10. And I feel the same way about Food Network Star. I don't have a favorite, so we'll see what happens next week.
Never seen any of the other shows you mentioned either. I think Firefly is on hulu.com.

Saly- Wow, you hit the nail on the head. It is different as adults with friends.
I haven't watched Monk or Psych. I watched Deliver Me when we were on vacation, but we don't get Discovery Health here. Boo.
Movies haven't been fantastic lately, I don't think.

Jana- Thanks. I don't know if what happened was malicious. I don't think they thought about how it would hurt us.
Oh, still with the tour? You poor girl. I have not seen Army Wives yet, but I've heard good things about it.

Kahla- Thanks, and you're very welcome.

Mommy Brain- Thanks, I hope it gets better.
I've seen maybe 2 episodes of Grey's Anatomy. I might catch up with it all some day. I love that TV is on DVD now.

Fools Gold is really cute! We liked Narnia too, I took my daughter to see that.

My daughter and I enjoy So You Think You Can Dance.

I also watch:

Shear Genuis

Big Brother

Project Runway

Tori and Dean

(and that designer show.......where they get their own show if they win)

Mostly I dvr this stuff and watch it on the weekends.

Oh yeah!
And Army Wives.

Sorry your friends hurt you, I have been going thru that a lot in my own family. :(

Definitely The Mole...I change my mind about who the mole is every few minutes! I've got a couple episodes of Army Wives DVR'd to watch...I'm pretty into it but I don't think this season's as good as last. It's like they're trying too hard. I'm a little miffed with Food Network Star since they sent home Kelsey AND Shane, but I like Adam and Aaron pretty well. But if Lisa wins, I think I might have to boycott FN for a while. I can't stand her!!

We saw The Dark Knight last weekend. It was good, but def. NOT a PG-13. Go into it thinking rated R and be prepared for that.

The Illusionist....I think I saw that. I get that one confused with The Prestige, which we also saw.

It's funny, I didn't watch all that much TV in the evening until Hubby started working nights and I'm by myself after the kids go to bed.

I actually don't get into reality tv much. Jim loves Hell's Kitchen, but that's about the only one. We just rent TONS of movies during the summer to watch when we have grown up time. Or I watch Friends reruns, since I have the entire show on DVD. Because I am INSANE!

I just wanted to stop by and let you know I am thinking of you. Not much worse than being hurt by someone you care about.

On a lighter note (if there is one) I can't help but think at least this friend showed their true colors sooner than later?

Oh honey, I am so sorry you are hurt. I hate that. Boo Hiss! You sound like me, I think we would get along great. Unhappy, but trying to find something good to talk about. So, for my shows, I am a Big Brother fan (don't tell anyone, that's just between us.) Movies - if it ain't a Disney, I don't get to see it.
