Welcome Fall

... now go away summer!

Fall (or Autumn if you please) is my favorite season! I love the cooler weather. My favorite is warmish days (in the 60's or low 70's is ideal) and cooler evenings/nights. I love the fresh air and the changing leaves. The caterpillar buzzing is fun too, but that's for another post.

The holidays are nearing. It's something fun to look forward to... only 90 days to Christmas. There are always lots of fun activities. The pace of things begins to slow down in fall. It's getting darker earlier, and I have the urge to snuggle under a blanket on the couch in the evenings.

I love the change of clothes. I prefer jeans, long-sleeve shirts and warm sweaters.

There are so many great foods that are great in the fall. We begin making warm, comfort foods. Then there's cider, pumpkin cookies, cake donuts, candy corn, and other yummy things.

These are all things I crave about this season. It's just so lovely.

But, it's still hot here. Summer just won't go away. We've only had a few cool days, and the rest have been unseasonably warm. I'm ready to pack away the carpis and t-shirts, so I can pull out the sweatshirts and jeans. I want to dress my son in his fun new fall clothes. I want to be able to take him on walks and not get eaten up by mosquitoes or sweat from the humidity.

I'm in no hurry for winter to be here, but could summer just leave for the year? Is that too much to ask?

*sigh* Summer lasts approximately 8905698450684596 months in Texas. It won't be cool until November.

Ditto Erica. We'll be in our summer clothes for the forseeable future. I'm making pumpkin bread and pumpkin cheesecake anyway just to get us in the mood!

Kelsey- It will be here soon enough. I just hope that it doesn't skip right to winter. It's been done before.

Devan- Oh, glad you got the reader going. I do the refresh thing too. I got a little obsessive about that too. A while back I added a bunch more blogs. Then I'm almost guaranteed more things to read. ;)

Erica & Jana- You can coem visit it a month when it's nice and cool and all the leaves have changed here. It's lovely. We'll have a blast and dress out kids in neat fall clothes!

Jana- Love that you're baking. That's the way to go.

I started using Google Reader, and I think now I'm reading MORE! I'm obsessed, every time I check something else has been updated. I just wasted Samantha's whole naptime on the computer, I hate that. I need to schedule in "computer times" and stick to it. Anyway, I can't wait for fall either. It is 90 degrees today in CT.

TTSC- I think it's a great use of naptime. ;) Yucko, hot there too.

DH- Good, I'm glad it's not just me!
